This will never, ever be a political blog, except on the rare occasions when I feel like commenting on some Louisiana race most of you probably don't give a damn about. However, I do feel compelled to say that I finally saw the footage of Howard Dean's "insane scream" last night, and I cannot believe all the idiotic fuss that has been made about it. From the coverage, I thought he must have sprouted a few extra arms. Upon viewing the footage, I see little difference between it and any other politician's hyperbole. Though I'm not a big fan of Dean (or any other presidential candidate), this flap strikes me as a creation of pundits and would-be pundits looking for something to get pissy about. Maybe I've just been living in Louisiana too long; most politicians act like that here.
In other news, I won't be setting foot in Ohio until this legislative condoning of prejudice is overturned, not that I was particularly planning on it anyway.
