Resolution

Help revive Livejournal. Write something here every day. Don't just post stuff for sale or reposts from Facebook. Don't worry about whether it is crappy or embarrassing. Today's thought is about how we are attempting to emulate the sleep patterns of our cats. We sleep in short stretches when we feel like it, work when we are awake. So far, Grey is more productive than ever. Myself, I'm not sure about yet, but I seem to be doing OK. Not so much art, but lots of Voodoo/hoodoo work for people. I seem to be specializing in honey jars.

When you get older, like me (cough-60something-cough), you'll get some really odd sleeping patterns. Cat napping sounds like a good idea, though.

Pity about LJ being abandoned. I know so many people who just left.

I get notices at least once a week about so-and-so's birthday, with so-and-so being a user who hasn't posted in at least five years.

I'm trying to bring mine back, as well. It's more difficult when you're not a pile of misery...

It is interesting to me how you and Grey are cat napping and he is more productive. I'm interesting to see how it continues to work for you both. 20 years of pain and fatigue issues also means my sleep schedule has not been normal.

Good to hear your voodoo work is doing well.

I never stopped posting to LJ but most times I feel I am writing into the ether.

I don't think I can post every day but I've definitely been posting a lot lately.

It's good to see you here again posting about general life stuff.

I post every day, but my journal has for the most part turned private as I've been dealing with health issues.

I've just finished a re-read of the restaurant trilogy, so a note of thanks for the pleasure.

I'm trying to post more. I miss LJ the way it used to be, before Six Apart and SUP and ads.

You might want to check out http://www.polyphasicsociety.com. They have all sorts of information about alternative sleep patterns/cycles instead of the the typical 8hrs.

I'd love to see how that kind of sleeping works for you. I've been trying to figure out an ideal sleep schedule.

Please post on LJ again, Billy. I have to say I try to post at least once a week, but most of my friends are down to a post every couple months. It's sad.

I try to post often too. I like it much better than facebook and wish so many friends and other interesting people would still be here.

Well said! I'm clinging on to lj doggedly, posting more there than facebook.

There is a case to be made for shaking off the all nighter sleep pattern. In medieval times people broke up their night's sleep with a mid-night wakefulness period. The 8 hour sleep is thought by some to be a relatively modern invention.

Here from a link from Crazycrone.

YAY, I am glad you are posting here again. Facebook is just not appropriate for a lot of stuff I want to comment on, read about, write about... LJ is my more private corner of the interwebs where I feel that I have more control and more ability to "hide".

I don't know why its such a big leap to understand that if you post at a specific site, that sight will eventually gain traffic. Social media is like herding cats.

I've been trying to revive my own LJ for awhile with mixed results but I am at least keeping up with my friends a bit better. Baby steps I suppose. I've gotten way too lazy and the whole "like" function on Facebook has nearly killed my ability to comment on things. It's a bad habit that I'm trying hard to break.

See this post is already a few months old, but - think it never can hurt to say "around and writing". At least the author is going to take notice of it.
The only thing left to note: Don't push too far, just only write regularly. It doesn't need to be everyday. (Like at least once in a week, once in 3 days or so. Little by little, the bird buils its nest.)
